The '''Crystal Bow''' is a [[Dragonwilds:Power Level]] 3 [[Dragonwilds:Masterwork]] [[Dragonwilds:Shortbow]] that can be obtained (as well as its crafting recipe) as a reward from the [[Dragonwilds:Heartstrings]] quest. Its special attack is called '''Shattershot''', costing 30 [[Dragonwilds:stamina]] and shoots an area-of-effect cone of arrows a medium distance that deals 35 damage to every target hit. Each target hit is stuck with crystal needles that explode after a short time for 50 damage. More needles can be stacked before the previous set explodes. This special attack can penetrate solid objects, unlike normal arrows.

A Crystal Bow is not crafted but sung into existence. Harmonies are layered over one another to teach the weapon a story so that it might understand why it needs to be strong. Traditionally, the songs that are sung are of the plight of the elves, their loneliness without their goddess, and the many dangers they must face.

The shimmering substance they're made from is traditionally a shard of the elven goddess {{RSL|Seren}}, left behind when her crystal form shattered at the end of the {{RSL|Third Age}} {{RSL|God Wars}}.

This bow isn't of the same material, and the song is different, too. There's no divine essence in the crystal, no lament of the elves. Instead, it is sung memories of a lifetime together, distilled down into facets reflecting in the crystalline flaws. In the moonlight, those facets sparkle like tiny stars held within glass — moments of hardship, conflicts, happiness{{sic|missing serial comma}} and grief.

It is music as a weapon, with memory as its handle and sorrow as its string.
