After the events of the [[Dragonwilds:Sixth Age]], Doric was drinking at a pub, where he was approached by Catham who requested that he joined the expedition to Ashenfall. Being drunk, Doric was quick to agree on the journey. Once he sobered up the next day, he realized what he done, regretting his choice on making deals while drunk. Being a man of his word, he went along with the expedition, allowing his son to take over the business in his absence. Despite not wanting to join, he is in search of new metals, lost smithing techniques and blueprints of ancient weapons.
