{{Journal entry|I have seen what love looks like, and it spirals through the clouds. Serpentine patterns entwined together as they dance in the sun’s rays and share the sky with one another. For such large creatures, you would think them incapable of grace, yet I have never seen a dance so beautiful as the two of them together.

My grandmother speaks of their dance with a smile on her wrinkled lips. Telling stories of how the villagers danced the same, hand in hand, around the dark fires of winter. Bringing love and hope and joy in a musical war against the dark. Yet, there is a knowing sort of sadness when I ask where the dragons' children are.

Because I have never seen them.

Perhaps that’s why they are so kind to us. So gentle. Why they crush the bandits as they ransack our villages, or why they toss the dragon wolves out into the cold. Because we are their children, in a strange sort of way.

Gran says that’s what the Blessing is, that little dragon magic in our bones. An enchantment woven over each of us, as part of the dance. It makes us healthier, makes us heartier, makes us better than before.

I can’t wait to learn a dance of my own. Perhaps I can spiral through the clouds like they do, wouldn’t that be a wonderful thing?}}
