New page

Ghornfell is a Dragonwilds:Power level 3-4 region in Dragonwilds:Ashenfall located north of the continent.

History
Ghornfell served as a sanctuary for the Garou, who settled its fertile plains to escape persecution. They established a home, intending to build a lasting, peaceful society. This dream was shattered by the arrival of Dragonwilds:General Velgar. After being wounded in a battle with a god, Velgar's blood, warped by potent magic, became a powerful toxin. As his wounds wept, the blood seeped into the earth, corrupting the plains and transforming them into the Bloodblight Swamp. This act forever cursed the region and established his dominance.

The region has also seen other conflicts. The Stormtouched Highlands are the site of a devastating magical storm, unleashed by a powerful sorcerer during a long-forgotten war. The storm has raged ever since, animated by the vengeful spirit of its caster. The highlands also hold the remnants of twisted experiments conducted by the dragonkin, Dragonwilds:Lacrussa, whose creations, the ancient wyrms, were powerful enough to have influenced the God Wars.

Geography
Ghornfell is divided into three major subregions, each with a unique and dangerous environment.

Dragonwilds:Fractured Plains
The Fractured Plains serve as the primary hunting grounds for the resident garou. The unstable anima here has a profound effect on the local flora, causing plants to adopt the brilliant, fiery hues of dragonfire. When the wind blows, the entire landscape appears to be a dancing inferno. Dominating the skyline is the shattered remnant of a great tower, a monument to a long-dead dragonkin architect. This tower now serves as the lair for General Velgar. A strange, glistening crystal can also be found atop a mesa, from which a sorrowful sound is said to carry on the wind.

Dragonwilds:Stormtouched Highlands
The Stormtouched Highlands is filled with a violent thunderstorm that perpetually rages across. Frequent lightning is unusually aggressive, seeming to target any who travels through the area. The ground is littered with the colossal bones of ancient wyrms, gargantuan dragons forged by Lacrussa. Watching over the region is a massive stone monument dedicated to a fallen garou monarch, a king who was celebrated for challenging impossible foes. The garou that inhabit these highlands are exceptionally well-trained and mercilessly defend their sacred lands.

Dragonwilds:Bloodblight Swamp
Bloodblight Swamp was once a fertile expanse of wheat and barley fields; the swamp is now a toxic mire. The corruption stems directly from the blood of General Velgar. Poisonous green mists rise from the soil, the water is entirely corrupted, and the very air is hazardous to breathe. The swamp is home to monstrous creatures described as ancient nightmares from another world. The garou who live here have developed a resistance to the poison, but it has addled their minds, making them significantly more violent and hateful than their kin in other regions. A large garou settlement, seething with rage, is located within the swamp.
