New page

Hydration is a Dragonwilds:player attribute which determines how thirsty they are - if a player is low on hydration, their Dragonwilds:stamina regeneration will be negatively affected. To increase hydration, players can drink water or Dragonwilds:infusions.

Effects
* The maximum Hydration a player can have is 100. Attempting to consume another drink will make the top of its in-game infobox say, CANNOT CONSUME.
* Immediately after taking a drink for hydration, the player receives an invisible Dragonwilds:perk (buff) that stops the degradation of Hydration for 60s.
** Interestingly, this timer begins upon clicking the drink and starting the use delay timer of 2s, not after this delay is completed, as one would assume. In this way, the buff is only 58s long + the 2-second use delay timer.
* Hydration status slowly dwindles over time. When equal to or less than 25/100, Hydration dwindles at half the rate:

Hydration level
Dwindle rate
>25/100
(1/11)/s, or 1pt/11s
≤25/100
(1/22)/s, or 1pt/22s
This means going from 100-0 hydration takes 1,375s (22m 55s).

* If the player has less than or equal to 25/100 Dragonwilds:Rest, Hydration will dwindle more quickly (1s faster per point lost at base rate):

+≤25/100 Rest
Hydration level
Dwindle rate
>25/100
(1/10)/s, or 1pt/10s
≤25/100
(1/20)/s, or 1pt/20s
At this rest threshold, the player would instead go from 100-0 Hydration in 1,250s (20m 50s)
* Every 25 hydration will increase the player's natural stamina regeneration:
Hydration level
Stamina regeneration
100/100
6.0/s
75/100
4.5/s
50/100
3.0/s
25/100
1.5/s
0/100
0.75/s
* Upon reaching 0 hydration, the player will start taking damage until reaching 1 health; the player cannot die from having 0 hydration. The damage can stack with 0 Dragonwilds:Sustenance, making the player's health drop more quickly to 1, however this still cannot kill the player.
** At 0 Hydration, the player will lose 1hp/s.
** At both 0 Hydration and 0 Sustenance, the player will lose 2hp/s

* Like Sustenance, while at 0 Hydration, the player cannot use the spell Dragonwilds:Eye of Oculus. This means when building large structures or player homes with the use of Eye of Oculus, Hydration, and Sustenance items are required.
* Like with Sustenance but unlike Rest, upon Dragonwilds:death hydration will be reduced by 10/100, unless the player is already at or below 35/100; in this case, it will be reset to the minimum of 25/100.
* After a full night's rest, Hydration is reduced:
** 65-100: Hydration reduced by up to 40, randomly
** 25-65: Hydration reduced randomly by up to 40, to a minimum of 25
** 0-25: Hydration maintained at current value.

Player Announcements
Upon reaching certain thresholds of Hydration, a player announcement on screen will display:

25/100: Your throat feels dry. You could do with a drink of water.

5/100: Your lips crack and your heart races from dehydration.

0/100: You are critically dehydrated. Your body can't take much more of this.
