While most wizards practised familiar spells, pushing their research into different practical applications of what was already known, one wizard would push the boundaries of spellcasting itself. Her name was [[Dragonwilds:Cynthia Valtis]], and she would go down in local legend.

She would have liked to be remembered for her ability to transform twigs into carrots, thus preventing the famine that threatened [[Dragonwilds:Brynmoor]]. She would have wanted to be remembered for her clever application of wind and water magic for creating a nice cool breeze during the summer heat. But, alas, she would be remembered for an ill-advised fire magic experiment that sent her travelling across the continent faster than any wizard before.

Her body has yet to be found.
