			Sometimes evolution gets inspired by the wrong things. The catfish of Ashenfall have long been the victim of any creature that chooses to make them lunch. They are caught, cooked and consumed more often than is reasonable, and their suffering seemed too great as a result. So it was that a god took pity on them and gave them a defence.

			It is uncertain which god, for none have claimed responsibility, but the divine whimsy could be the result of any of them. All we know is that the fish now have a chance against their assailants, an armoured hide to ward off some of the worst of their misery.
