{{journal entry|
Poor old Noggin found no peace in death, because even the gods forgot him. When he reached the River Noumenon, there was no guide to usher him through to the Afterlife. No radiant light to beckon him forward into the loving arms of those he'd lost. Instead, there was a silence and it went on and on.

Always quiet and forgettable, the universe simply failed to recall him. His name was recorded in no books of the dead. The various creatures that prey on lost souls, never once though he seemed like a pleasant meal. Instead they did nothing, except to leave him to his wandering, forgotten and alone.

Then four people went digging where they shouldn't, and that made Noggin mad. Forgettable as he was, he had always made a point of preserving the status quo and to see these four ruffians blindly digging into the sould that had never done anyone a disservice, why that was unforgivable - he couldn't let it stand. So he crept into their camp, and found the treasure they coveted, and secreted himself within the gold and silver, waiting to be found. Found he was, for when they opened the chest they saw no treasure, no jewels, no trinkets of worth - because Noggin had eaten all of them, swallowed the pieces down into the void - they found only a ghostly sackcloth head glaring back at them, with nothing but hate in its eyes.

This is that piece of sackcloth, and it's not happy to see you.
