Summoner Flament's experiments were sanctioned by Alric but given a wide berth by everyone else. He was less interested in the comings and goings of demons - how to bring them into this world, how to shuffle them out - and was more concerned with demonic behaviours. He wanted to see what the average avernic demon would do in a myriad of situations: what do they do when starved? How do they behave when in the company of other, non-avernic demons? Could they drown? Could they be dropped from a great height?

Summoner Flament had a pit. It was in that pit that he would keep his testing demons. He would get an allocation from the magi (who would shuffle away before they had to interact with Flament). Alric knew that Flament's works were unorthodox but produced results that could be leveraged against the demons.

And it was from the top of the pit that Flament scratched notes, watched, and sang.

"Ten red demons, sitting in a pit. Ten red demons, sitting in a pit. And if one Black Knight should accidentally slip...

There'll be ten red demons, chewing human bits."

There was madness in Summoner Flament before the Dreaming Stone shattered.
