It was [[Dragonwilds:Avisk]] who raised the question of whether the vault guardians has souls. They weren't intelligent and were useful for little more than manual labour and defence. Yet, they possessed a spark of creativity that Avisk argued was a sign of something more profound.<br />

[[Dragonwilds:Lacrussa]] dismissed him; of course, they were tools, nothing more. Still, there were moments when even she doubted. When she found her sibling, the seer [[Dragonwilds:Viika]], laughing with one, she questioned everything, especially since Viika had never laughed with her.<br />

She studied them carefully for years afterwards, trying to figure out what Viika saw in them. Yet, there was never enough there to make her belive. Viika was, after all, prone to behaviour that Lacrussa could not understand. She loved her sibling dearly; breaking them free of the gilded prison they'd been raised in was what had made her an outcast to her people. Yet she knew that, deep down, she would never truly understand them.<br />
