The trees of Ashenfall are infused with magic, which makes them a little more cunning than a normal tree. While lacking sapience, nor sentience, these trees possess on characteristic in abundance – they possess spite.<br />

A tree’s spite resonates back across the axe that cuts it, leaving splinters in the handle and cracks in the blade. Over time this shatters the tool, forcing repairs, which can infuriate lumberjacks when they’re in the middle of a swing.<br />

This ring makes the wearer’s anima feel more in tune with nature, reducing the spite of the tree’s retaliation. While unable to negate it completely, it makes axes last longer and logs feel lighter to carry.<br />
