'''Xikotal''' was a large black [[Dragonwilds:Dragon (race)|dragon]]{{CiteJournal|journal=Battered Diary|quote=The black-scaled guardian}} and [[Dragonwilds:Imaru]]'s mate. Like his mate, he protected the human settlement in [[Dragonwilds:Fellhollow]], even during [[Dragonwilds:Kuldra]] and her armies' rampage. They were killed by Dragon Queen when she descended on the region.

== History ==
Xikotal origin in unknown, but he is one of the many dragons created by the [[Dragonwilds:Dragonkin (race)|dragonkin]]. He and Imaru both settled within Fellhollow, where they would live in peace amongst the settlers that would migrate from the southern region, in hope to escape the trouble there. The two and the settlers found peace among leaving with each other, with Imaru and Xikotal helping them build their city and assist them in other means,{{CiteJournal|journal=Ravanna's Second Journal|quote=these dragons watch over the villagers, help them with construction, farming, all sorts of stuff.}} with Imaru using her magic to bring the rains, while Xikotal calmed the winds. All this in exchange for a few sheep and cows.{{CiteJournal|journal=Lazilly-Penned Diary|quote=Her magic brought rain and his calmed the winds, so that our harvests were plentiful, and our population bloomed. All it costs is a few sheep or cows every once in a while, a pretty good deal if you ask me}} Sometime later, Imaru would appoint several guards to protect them when they go into a long torpors.{{CiteJournal|journal=Steel Sword|quote=She was chosen by Imaru as one of her guards, not that a dragon needed such a thing, and she was responsible for the defense of the dragons when they fell into the weeks-long torpors they were known to suffer.}}

After the [[Dragonwilds:Dragon Rebellion]], Kuldra had sent her dragons to wipe out the settlements of Ashenfall, minus a few. She saw the mercy both Xikotal and Imaru were bestowing on the settlements, and decided to deal with the matter herself. As Kuldra descended on the region, [[Dragonwilds:Atilius Rasmodel]]{{CiteJournal|journal=Steel Sword|quote=She was chosen by Imaru as one of her guards, not that a dragon needed such a thing, and she was responsible for the defense of the dragons when they fell into the weeks-long torpors they were known to suffer.}} one of the guards appointed by Imaru, would ride on top of Xikotal, some of the nobles clad in [[Dragonwilds::Category:Steel equipment|Steel equipment]]{{CiteJournal|journal=Steel Platelegs|quote=When Kuldra arrived it was as if the air had grown heavy, pressing down on everyone. A whole village fell silent as the Godeater turned her gaze upon them. As Imaru and Xikotal rose to face her, villagers instinctively ran to don their heirloom steel armour, hoping that they wouldn‘t have to use it, but knowing in their hearts that they would.}} went to assist Xikotal and Imaru, in hope to defend their new home and bring an end to the Dragon Queen. Despite the help and numbers, they failed to bring Kuldra down. Atilius and Xikotal were slain by the Dragon Queen,{{CiteJournal|journal=Steel Sword|quote=She died beside the dragon she had sworn to protect, free of all remorse, in the line of duty}} who, in front of not only Imaru, but the all those who assisted and watching from the distance, pulled Xikotal's heart from his chest and devoured it{{CiteJournal|journal=Ravanna's Third Journal|quote=I have a new customer, and she won’t fit through the door.
Odd to empathise with a dragon, but I do. We all saw what happened. I watched as the great multi-headed dragon queen pulled Xikotal’s heart from his chest and ate it in front of his mate.}}.
