=== Foundation ===
The United Nations of Earth Navy (UNEN) was founded on [[StarCitizen:November 8]] 2380 , when representatives of the armed forces of Earth's constituent nations marched from various points around [[StarCitizen:New York City]] converging on the UNE Senate building. There, the representatives took an oath that founded the UNE armed forces. This event is commemorated by [[StarCitizen:Pax Humana]]. The [[StarCitizen:United Empire of Earth Army]] is said to be the oldest branch of the armed services, implying they took their oaths first.

=== Unification Wars ===
The [[StarCitizen:Unification War]] was fought between 2380-2384. It began with a mutiny aboard a warship named [[StarCitizen:Stanley]]. This was the first conflict to involve the UNE armed forces.

=== Interstellar Police Force ===
The early UNEN was primarily an interstellar police force, responsible for cracking down on the plethora of criminal organisations that had established bases in remote parts of UNE space, particularly the [[StarCitizen:Croshaw system]]. To combat this threat, the UNEN established a checkpoint around the [[StarCitizen:Sol - Croshaw]] [[StarCitizen:Jump Point]]. The heavy-handed policing of the military led to protests from interstellar hauliers, leading to formation of the civilian [[StarCitizen:Customs Bureau]], which took over this role.

While humanity's first contact with aliens was peaceful, the discovery of another technologically advanced sentient race caused the [[StarCitizen:United Nations of Earth]] to develop their Navy for the potential of meeting a hostile rival.

== United Planets of Earth Navy ==
The [[StarCitizen:United Planets of Earth]] was proclaimed in 2523 as a peaceful restructuring of the [[StarCitizen:United Nations of Earth]]. The Navy was simply relabelled as the United Planets of Earth Navy (UPEN). Ships commissioned under the UPEN carried the prefix UPES, "United Planets of Earth Ship". Vessels serving under the UPEN include the [[StarCitizen:Perseus]]-class gunboats [[StarCitizen:UPES Arash]] and [[StarCitizen:UPES Bunjil]] as well as the [[StarCitizen:UPES Arrowhead]].

=== Start of the Xi'an-Human Cold War ===

In 2530, workers from the [[StarCitizen:terraforming]] company [[StarCitizen:Gaia Planet Services]] attempted to set up operations in the [[StarCitizen:Th.us'ūng system]]. They illegally neglected to perform the necessary scans of the system, and unbeknownst to them were attempting to terraform in an inhabited [[StarCitizen:Xi'an]] system. The crew was captured, and following 57 days of negotiations between the [[StarCitizen:Xi'an Empire]] and [[StarCitizen:United Planets of Earth]], released in return for information. This event initiated the [[StarCitizen:Xi'an-Human Cold War]], which the UPEN and its successor would be involved in for the next 262 years.

=== First Tevarin War ===

In 2541, a jump point to the [[StarCitizen:Tevarin]] home system of [[StarCitizen:Elysium system|Elysium]] was discovered, and the Tevarin encountered. At the time, the Tevarin were an approximately equal race to humanity in terms of technology, and had invented [[StarCitizen:quantum travel]] and highly advanced [[StarCitizen:Shield generators]]. However, they were also facing issues with overpopulation. As an intensely martial society the Tevarin viewed conquest of the [[StarCitizen:United Planets of Earth]] as a viable solution to their problems, and declared war.

The war would be the first true test of humanity's navy. It culminated in the [[StarCitizen:Battle of Idris IV]] on October 1, 2544, where under the command of the young [[StarCitizen:Ivar Messer]] the tide of war was turned against the Tevarin, leading to their eventual defeat in 2546.

== United Empire of Earth Navy ==

== Second Tevarin War ==

The Second Human-Tevarin War was an interstellar conflict between the [[StarCitizen:/starcitizen.tools/United Empire of Earth|United Empire of Earth]] and remnants of the Tevarin Sovereignty that had been dissolved in the wake of the first conflict. The war commenced in 2603, 57 years after the conclusion of the [[StarCitizen:/starcitizen.tools/First Tevarin War|First Human-Tevarin War]]. A new [[StarCitizen:/starcitizen.tools/Tevarin|Tevarin]] Warlord, [[StarCitizen:/starcitizen.tools/Corath'Thal|Corath'Thal]], emerged from the corners of the cosmos with a rebuilt Tevarin battle-fleet, and launched his first attack against the UEE systems. The fleet's sole mission was to reclaim [[StarCitizen:/starcitizen.tools/Jalan|Elysium IV]], their former homeworld of Kaleeth. While it was a sympathetic cause that some [[StarCitizen:/starcitizen.tools/Human|Humans]] could support, the Empire refused to cede back territory to the Tevarins and reform their state. The war lasted seven years, three more than the first, and touched almost every corner of the Empire.
