GriffinGamingRPG was a player of ''Eve Online'', which holds an annual convention in Iceland which he wanted to attend. He couldn't attend it, but years later a community of Eve Online players in North America, who often couldn't make the trip to Iceland, decided to do an event in Las Vegas, called Eve Vegas. Over time, CCP started to send staff, resulting in a partnership that was both community and company.
