This first episode was meant to focus specifically on updates on interrupt tech and level design in [[StarCitizen:Squadron 42|SQ42]]. However CIG discovered after the whole piece was finished and getting ready for publishing was that the approach resulted in an underwhelming show. Not only did the episode have major audio issues due to WFH recording, but it lacked visuals to support the talking, and CIG truly prefer to show rather than tell. Ultimately, CIG decided that it wasn’t good enough to show, even for a “scrappy” video that was not meant to be a marketing sizzle trailer. However, before that stop message could permeate the entire marketing org, they had moved forward with a public publish date. Originally, they thought they could simply splice in fresh b-roll, but as they spent the next few days reviewing the show, they saw the need to update the visuals to better reflect what was being discussed, and that led to the realization that they still didn’t have the right quality footage to tell the story they wanted to tell. So, they ended up deciding to re-shoot the entire episode up to usual quality standards. As The Briefing Room was never meant to be such a disruption to the team that they would prioritize footage for the show above the internal milestones for developmen, the SQ42 art team could only work on capturing new footage after normal work hours, and with key personnel out sick for over a week, the schedule kept getting pushed back further and further.<ref name=":0" />
