Roleplay (also role-play, often abbreviated as RP) is a social activity in which a players adopts and acts out the role of their character within the world of Alharth. A player who partakes in roleplay is called a roleplayer.

Lore

For better immersion, a player should be familiar with the lore of Alharth. The Register of Lore is useful in this regard. This is not to be confused with the player skill, Lore.
See also Timeline.

Notepad

The Notepad (N key, by default) is a freely editable text field, used for taking notes.
Use this while questing or for keeping short role-play notes.

Glamour and Fashion

Glamour is the system in which the player can alter the appearance of their character's equipment, similar to transmogs in other MMOs. Not to be confused with Transmutation.
Use the 'Apply Glamour to Item' Lore Recipe to Glamour equipment. Glamour Berries and Glamour Gourds are required to earn Glamours.

Status

Within your Social panel (O key, by default) you can see people who are online in nearby areas. At the bottom you can set a custom user status.
Feel free to set this to 'Roleplaying' or 'Drinking in a Serbule...' or whatever you'd like, so that other roleplayers may find you on the Social panel.

Roleplay Commands

There are many chat commands that are useful in roleplay. For a full list of emotes and commands, see User Interface.

/wave Plays a short animation of your character waving.
/n <message> Send a message to nearby players, equivalent to local or say in other MMOs.
/e <message> Perform a custom emote. Can be targeted with %t
/roll 2d6 Roll two six-sided dice and announce the results. Can be any number of any sized dice, such as 3d20.

Any time you have a message and would like to hide its contents within a spoiler, use triple brackets, [[ProjectGorgon:[<message>|[<message>]]]. This works for emotes sent with /e too.

Roleplay Chat Room

For discussing roleplay and finding roleplayers, the Roleplay custom chat room has been created.

/join Roleplay Joins the Roleplay chat room.
/leave Roleplay Leaves the Roleplay chat room.
/c Roleplay <message> Sends a message to the Roleplay chat room.

Roleplay Mechanics

As you adventure, there are many mechanics that contribute towards roleplay. Feel free to include or exclude them in your roleplay according to your preferences.
