Journal

The following text is transcribed from the Journal.

There are few things as good at shielding you from harm, as a great slab of metal between you and your foe. The steel shield is more durable than its iron kin, capable of resisting greater and more deadly blows.

It was popular among Fellhollow locals, who would play a game that indicated an intelligence shortage among the population. The game consisted of one player being equipped with a crossbow and other players would hide around the area carrying steel shields. The crossbow wielder would then hunt the other players and try and fire a bolt into their shields, marking them as out of the game.

Unsurprisingly the injuries caused by this game were large and common place. Even the death of some of the players wouldn’t cause the activity to be banned. “It’s tradition”, “it’s just good fun”, “hardly anyone gets hurt”, these were the arguments made even as parents grieved the loss of their child from the game.
