The Stretch Lands is a terrain generation error similar to the Minecraft:Far Lands that occur beyond the 32-bit integer limit (2,147,483,647).
Description
Because the Minecraft:Far Lands were moved so far away starting in 18w46a, a new set of Minecraft:Far Lands actually occur beyond the 32-bit integer limit and before the actual Minecraft:Far Lands.
The Stretch Lands happen through multiple variations as the Minecraft world starts breaking down, from the terrain having slightly blocky appearance to the world having a similar appearance as the edge Minecraft:Far Lands.
The world beyond the 32-bit integer limit starts breaking down in various ways before the Stretch Lands happen, Minecraft:mountains will overflow similar to how it happens in Minecraft:Bedrock Edition, caves will generate in a more blocky formation and some biomes will overflow and generate as stone similar to a Minecraft:Stony Shore.
The most likely answer for the Stretch Lands happening is that the Farther, Fartherer and the Farthest Lands happen before the actual Far Lands, making the terrain have a Far Lands appearance.
