The crossbow was originally presented as the Iolo Industries Armor-Piercing Crossbow, a cross-promotional item tied to StarCitizen:Shroud of the Avatar: Forsaken Virtues.<ref name="backsota" /> Its manufacturer was later attributed to StarCitizen:UltiFlex as the StarCitizen:Novian Crossbow, so it is assumed that Iolo Industries was removed from the lore.
