To gain the Scorched debuff, players must be standing in direct sunlight within the Umbral Sands region and cannot be removed unless the player is either under shade, under roofs, or entering the region at night.
Additionally, the '''Scorch''' build up is reduced to about half near sunrise (around 7:30 AM in-game) and sunset (around 8 PM in-game).

Template:Infobox Perk Scorch is a status effect that builds while in direct sunlight in the Dragonwilds:Umbral Sands and falls off in shade or at night. When the meter fills, it will drain 1 health and 1.5 hydration per second.

The Perk Dragonwilds:Frosted Flavours from Dragonwilds:Cactus Water, the Cooling Dragonwilds:Infusions, Dragonwilds:Monkfish Skewers and Dragonwilds:Umbral Kebab and the Dragonwilds:Armour Dragonwilds:Desert Hood, Dragonwilds:Desert Robes, and Dragonwilds:Desert Robe Legs provide Scorch resistance. The more sources of Scorch resistance a player has, the longer they can remain in direct sunlight. The Dragonwilds:Armour provide a bit better resistance than the Dragonwilds:Perks, but they all stack.<ref>There is currently a bug where having less than 5 sources of Scorch resistance, building some Scorch, and then swapping to 5 AND stepping into the shade will build scorch instead of lower it.</ref>The time a player can remain in direct sunlight before being afflicted by Scorch is as follows:

Sources Time in sunlight
0 80 seconds
1 105 seconds
2 160 seconds
3 330 seconds
4 480 seconds
5 Full protection

Additionally, the Scorch build up is reduced to about half near sunrise (around 7:30 AM in-game) and sunset (around 8 PM in-game).
