- The Nova first entered service during the StarCitizen:Second Tevarin War in the 2600s, it was intended to replace Tumbril's StarCitizen:DX20 as the new battlefield equalizer. The tank became famous after the StarCitizen:Battle of Koren Pass in StarCitizen:2605, in which three Nova tanks held off an entire StarCitizen:Tevarin strike team for more than sixteen hours.<ref name="brochure" />

Development
The Nova was announced with a size 4 cannon in concept, it was upgraded to a size 5 cannon on release.<ref name="mr202103">Template:Cite RSI</ref>
Trivia
- The Nova tank is commonly referred as "Tonk" by the community. It was based on a mispronunciation by the technical designer StarCitizen:Corentin Billemont from the StarCitizen:Around the Verse Holiday Special 2017.<ref>Ship Shape: Tumbril Nova</ref> Having been added to in-game shirts, "Tonk" is technically canon.
