v0.8.0 alpha build 5 is the fourth build for Minecraft:Pocket Edition v0.8.0 alpha, released on November 29, 2013.

Minecraft:Lava

• Now creates Minecraft:stone when it flows vertically into Minecraft:water.

Minecraft:Flowers

• Position on the block is now randomized.

Items

Minecraft:Bone meal

• Now works like Template:In.
• Can grow Minecraft:ferns and Minecraft:grass in Survival and Creative.
• Minecraft:Pumpkin and Minecraft:melon stems only grow by one when bone meal is used.
• Minecraft:Flowers now spawn other flowers when bone meal is used.
• Template:Version exclusive: Grows Minecraft:sugar cane to maximum height.

Non-mob entities

Minecraft:Minecarts

• Now ride smoother.
