Beta 26.70.22 (ChromeOS, Android) or Preview 26.70.22 (Windows, iOS, iPadOS, Xbox, PlayStation), is the third beta/Preview for Minecraft:Bedrock Edition 26.70, released on October 24, 2026, for iOS and iPadOS, and on October 28, 2026, for all remaining devices,<ref>Template:Cite</ref> which adds the Minecraft:snow bricks block set and fixes bugs.
Additions
Blocks
File:Snow Bricks JE1.png Minecraft:Snow bricks
- A new type of brick made of Minecraft:snow blocks.
- Crafted using a 2×2 square of snow blocks.
- It has a File:Snow Brick Slab JE1.png slab, File:Snow Brick Stairs (N) JE1.png stairs, and File:Snow Brick Wall (ewU) JE1.png wall variant.
- The correct tool to mine snow bricks is a Minecraft:shovel, and will only drop themselves if mined with one.
Changes
Blocks
- No longer cracks when a Minecraft:stray is standing on top of it.
- Added Minecraft:ambient sounds that may play if there is a block of Minecraft:packed ice below the block.
- Minecraft:Wandering traders now sell one ice crystal for two Minecraft:emeralds.
- Packed ice bricks and variants are now correctly located in the Minecraft:Creative inventory, behind sulfur bricks.
- Packed ice bricks and variants now cause Minecraft:note blocks to play the "Chime" instrument.
- Packed ice bricks stairs and slabs now submerge correctly in lava and water.
- Renamed the packed ice brick slabs, stairs, and walls for consistency with other brick block variants.
Items
- No longer impacts player movement.
Mobs
- Frogs in deep water now reliably swim up and climb out onto nearby land.
- Added the "Cold" archetype, with similar properties to "Fast Sliding" except it is buoyant.
- Used when the sulfur cube absorbs a Minecraft:blue ice block.
- Floats and replaces water below it with a disk of Minecraft:frosted ice when it moves, similar to the Minecraft:Frost Walker enchantment.
- Will only place frosted ice if the sulfur cube starts its movement while it is on ground.
- Air blocks above the water block are required for frosted ice placement.
- Adult turtles in water now climb out onto nearby land instead of staying in the water.
World generation
- Minecraft:Villagers and Minecraft:zombie villagers now spawn as their snowy variants in ice caves.
General
Graphical
- Block cracking textures on icicles, ice crystals, straw beds, and other single-sided custom geometry blocks are no longer darker than intended.
- Equipped platform-exclusive skins, such as Mario Mash-up skins, now appear in local and platform-only worlds on Nintendo Switch.
- Added responsive Marketplace hero rows that feature one highlighted item alongside supporting items.
- Updated Marketplace content cards to size artwork and item details to their layouts.
- Limited responsive Marketplace grids to six columns by default.
- The gifting error dialog now displays "Unable to Gift" when the sender is ineligible to send a gift.
- The gift purchase confirmation button now shows the Minecoin icon (or the PlayStation token on PlayStation) next to the price instead of the word "Minecoins".
- Realms FAQ pages now hint to navigate down when expanded.
- Closed saves screen context menu at the start of Realm download.
- Updated Realms menu engine integration.
UI
- Improved inventory item tooltips with a new description in gray; all previous item tooltip descriptions are now gray instead of blue:
- The Marketplace Pass in Subscriptions settings now shows the number of days remaining on the subscription.
- When reordering packs with a keyboard or controller, focus now stays on the pack being moved, and pressing back (Template:Key on a controller, Template:Key on a keyboard) cancels the move.
Technical
AI goals
- Template:Cd:
- Now only targets land the mob has a full path to, so mobs no longer swim against a wall trying to reach land on the other side.
- No longer gives up as soon as it starts when Template:Cd is smaller than the 2 blocks the mob moves past the land.
- When Template:Cd is above Template:Cd, sampled positions are now snapped to the ground, so mobs in deep water find nearby land much more reliably.
- Template:Cd and Template:Cd are no longer hidden by the "In Game Player Names" option being disabled.
Biome components
- Template:Cd:
- Added the Template:Cd tag to the ice caves biome.
Blocks
- Box arrays in Template:Cd have been updated as follows from version 1.26.70 and onwards:
- Template:Cd and Template:Cd have been deprecated in favor of Template:Cd and Template:Cd.
- Template:Cd and Template:Cd were removed from version 1.26.60. Their minimum version is now 1.26.70 and they no longer require the "Upcoming Creator Features" experiment to use.
- The maximum box count limit for min and max arrays is now Template:Cd.
- The component will not accept empty values.
- Added pack optimization support to Linux dedicated server.
Entity components
- Added the following fields to the Template:Cd component.
- Template:Cd: The minimum and maximum distance the entity can teleport towards its target.
- Defaults to Template:Cd.
- Template:Cd: The maximum random offset, on each axis (x, y, z) and in either direction, added to the teleport direction.
- Defaults to Template:Cd.
- Template:Cd: Level sound event played after a successful teleport.
- Falls back to the default teleport sound if none is bound; use "undefined" for a silent teleport.
- Defaults to Template:Cd.
- Template:Cd: If set to Template:Cd, the entity can teleport into blocks that contain liquids, such as water.
- Defaults to Template:Cd.
- Template:Cd: The minimum and maximum distance the entity can teleport towards its target.
- Template:Cd:
- Updated the Template:Cd schema for format version 1.26.70.
- Template:Cd defines the trail block to place.
- Template:Cd defines the horizontal placement pattern as Template:Cd, Template:Cd, or Template:Cd.
- Template:Cd defines the maximum horizontal distance from the center at which blocks can be placed.
- Template:Cd defines the trail block placement positions relative to the entity.
- Template:Cd defines the entity conditions required before processing placement positions.
- Template:Cd accepts Template:Cd, Template:Cd, or Template:Cd to control validation at each placement position.
- Template:Cd defines block requirements at vertical Template:Cd values from each placement position.
- When omitted, Template:Cd defaults to Template:Cd.
- Template:Cd limits placement to ticks where the entity moves into a different block or lands, and defaults to Template:Cd.
- Updated the Template:Cd schema for format version 1.26.70.
- Template:Cd:
- Template:Cd now respects entity-specific sound mappings in Template:Cd.
Entity event responses
- Added the Template:Cd entity event response, allowing features to be placed at the entity's position.
- The Template:Cd field allows to specify the type of feature to place.
- The Template:Cd field allows to specify which target entity's position to place the feature at.
- This feature is currently only for internal use and will be made public in the future.
- Added new tag for sulfur cubes to make use of for physics determination and absorbing:
UI
- Core engine query hooks, except Template:Cd, are no longer exported from Template:Cd, so screens read engine data through React context hooks and tests provide it with mock providers instead of faking raw queries.
- Screen reader state and user options now live in the standalone Template:Cd and Template:Cd packages.
- Split screen context values in Template:Cd are now facets and include Template:Cd.
- Template:Cd, visual regression examples and playground Template:Cd now accept Template:Cd, Template:Cd, and Template:Cd props for mocking that data.
- Added "Close Creator Screens" keybinding to force close custom DDUI screens.
Experimental
These additions and changes are accessible by enabling the "Beta APIs" Minecraft:experimental toggle.
Changes
Technical
- Added Template:Cd to Template:Cd for inspecting, setting, replacing, and clearing the item displayed by item frames, with an option to drop the item when clearing.
- Added Template:Cd and Template:Cd methods to Template:Cd in Template:Cd for inspecting and setting item frame rotation in 45-degree increments, from Template:Cd through Template:Cd.
Fixes
Template:Fixes Other
- Fixed the map color of Minecraft:lightning rods.
- Fixed an issue where teleporting into the side of a block could trigger effects meant for standing on it.
- Fixed an issue on the first connection to experiences that could prevent certain multiplayer features from working correctly.
- Fixed an issue where certain animations would play too fast in split screen play.
- Fixed an issue that could cause a rendering error when multiple items were placed on a Minecraft:campfire with ray tracing enabled.
- Fixed duplicate Minecraft:music disc playback when a split-screen player joins.
- Fixed a bug where offers in the Content section of the Marketplace Pass page loaded forever when the page was opened from a web deeplink.
- Fixed a bug where the grayscale attribute on icons and image atlas elements was not working in JSON based UIs.
- Fixed 'Activate Texture' button from opening a broken version of the settings menu.
- Fixed the Minecraft:wither entity becoming invalid before scripts could access it in Template:Cd.
