Script error: No such module "Top icons". Template:Infobox Item The Abyssal Whip is a Power Level 4 one-handed Dragonwilds:Masterwork melee weapon that can be created at a Dragonwilds:Smithing Anvil. The recipe can be acquired from the Dragonwilds:Kletterbuja Kara Dragonwilds:vault by interacting with a dragonkin statue clutching a blue orb, and hidden within a concealed alcove on the upper floor, near the ledge-jumping path, provided players have the Dragonwilds:Abyssal Spine that is dropped by an Dragonwilds:Abyssal Demon in the player's inventory.

Its special attack is the Abyssal Snare, which sends out a slow-moving purple projectile that homes in on nearby enemies and explodes in a small radius after colliding into an enemy, wall, or after about 2 seconds, and causes a stagger to most foes that lasts roughly 3 seconds. It cannot travel up or down ledges, but the explosion can still affect foes close to the ledge where it collided. It can be very useful for initiating fights from a distance, keeping the enemy (or multiple enemies) on the floor while the player makes their approach, or as a combo extender or interruption by forcing them down when they attempt to retaliate. Due to the homing and explosion radius, it can also be effective in a bind when surrounded, as without aiming, they can be immediately disrupted, allowing players to escape. The special attack is unaffected by both Dragonwilds:Enchant Weapon: Fire and Air.

Stats

The Abyssal Whip's secondary ability requires 16 Dragonwilds:stamina points.

  • The special attack activation animation takes 0.8s to cast, plus travel time to the target.
    • After the cast completes, there is a 1s attack delay + 0.15s animation delay, where the player must finish the animation. This rewards casting further away from the enemy, so that the player can take more advantage of the stagger.
    • See Dragonwilds:Stamina for dodge animation cancelling.
  • By performing the entire 5-attack combo cycle, the player would incur roughly 0.22 procs/s, or 1 proc/4.55s, of bleed (See Dragonwilds:Combat).

Journal

The following text is transcribed from the Journal.

Dragonwilds:Abyssal demons are foul beasts. A single specimen can massacre a village before the warning bell can even sound. Crafting a weapon from their remains symbolises triumph against adversity or, perhaps, just hubris in its purest form.

Infused with the hate of the demon, each whip crack generates unbearable pain. Victims find themselves overcome with suffering as the agony seeps into the wounds the whips leave behind.

It is said that the whip even feeds on that misery, growing stronger with each strike, each life taken. The hate imbues the weapon with a desire to inflict more pain, and it grows stronger each time such a wish is granted. Or, so the legends say.

Only one Dragonwilds:Wild Knight has ever chosen to wield the whip in vengeance against a demon for a fallen sibling. Her name is dust in the wind of history, but there are still creatures that hide in the shadows, afraid of the crack of her whip.
