We have fallen so far as to go from god to godless. Worse still, to have the vile beastmen parade their own deity in front of us as though we’re unworthy of divine consideration.
She is beautiful and alien like all such beings are. Her words are soft and gentle, though the barbs are barely hidden. Her presence is a statement that any harm to her people will be met with swift retribution, and we lack the power to stand up to a god.
We’ve managed without Dragonwilds:Guthix’s presence for centuries now. It should be easy. Yet, when I see her moonlit figure glide through our village as she and the chieftain meet for diplomatic conversation, I can’t help the envy that stirs in my gut. A green-eyed worm writhing in jealousy.
We were abandoned. They were not. Aren’t we more deserving than the beasts?
I pray that we are found worthy again. That a god reaches their gaze toward us and recognizes what we’ve created. Dragonwilds:Ashenfall deserves to be a human nation.
I refuse to let it fall to animals.
