Template:Distinguish Template:Infobox block Soul soil is a Minecraft:block found abundantly in Minecraft:soul sand valleys. It does not slow down Minecraft:entities, but still activates Minecraft:Soul Speed. It can also be used to create Minecraft:soul fire, and generate Minecraft:basalt when paired with Minecraft:blue ice and Minecraft:lava.
Obtaining
Breaking
The suitable tool to break soul soil is Minecraft:shovel. Template:Breaking row Soul soil drops itself when it's destroyed.
Natural generation
Soul soil generates naturally in the Minecraft:soul sand valley biome.
Soul campfire
Minecraft:Soul campfires drop soul soil when broken without Minecraft:Silk Touch. Because soul campfires can be crafted with Minecraft:soul sand, which is a renewable resource, soul soil is thus renewable as well.<ref>Template:Bug</ref>
Usage
Unlike soul sand, soul soil does not slow mobs down, does not create Minecraft:bubble columns in water, and is a full block in vertical size (meaning mobs, players, or items do not sink inside of it).
Soul Speed
While wearing boots with the Minecraft:Soul Speed enchantment, players walk more quickly on soul soil.
Fire
Fire lit on soul soil becomes Minecraft:soul fire.
Withers
Template:FakeImage 4 blocks of soul soil (or Minecraft:soul sand) are used in the construction of a Minecraft:wither. (See Template:Slink)
Basalt
Minecraft:Lava on top of soul soil and directly adjacent to Minecraft:blue ice turns into Minecraft:basalt. (See Minecraft:Tutorial:Basalt farming)
