Lee Amarakoon was Senior VFX artist at Cloud Imperium Games.
Lee Amarakoon was a guest at GDC Online in 2012, when StarCitizen:Chris Roberts first revealed StarCitizen:Star Citizen. He approached Chris Roberts after the presentation, and, after getting him to sign copies of the first three Wing Commander games, he asked him if they were hiring VFX artists after which he sent his resume and demo reel. He needed more experience with Star Citizen’s CryEngine. He then spent about eight months, nights and weekends, learning the ins and outs of CryEngine, absorbing as much as he could about it, doing lots of different VFX examples which could relate to Star Citizen.
In February 2014, he attempted again and was hired in March 2014.<ref>Star Citizen and the triumphant, record-smashing return of Chris Roberts, by Lee Hutchinson, Ars Technica, 8/3/2014</ref>
