The Aegis A3G Vanguard Warden is a long-range military fighter which features extensive forward-mounted weaponry designed to tear through the shields and armor of other spacecraft. So-named because their multiple-jump range allows them to form the vanguard of any military expedition, Vanguards have seen extensive service against the StarCitizen:Vanduul.<ref name="VanguardWardenStore">Template:Cite RSI</ref><ref name="VanguardWardenLaunch">Template:Cite RSI</ref>

Development
| 2014-11-01 | The Vanguard is the promised twin-engine deep space fighter of the 60 million stretch goal.<ref>Template:Cite RSI</ref> |
| 2015-05-09 | StarCitizen:Dave Richard and StarCitizen:Christine Marsh created a mini-game called StarCitizen:Hyper Vanguard Force IV which feature the Vanguard as the main protagonist.<ref>Template:Cite RSI</ref> |
Trivia
- It is originally known as Bulldog. The concept was inspired by the twin-engine aircraft of World War II, like the Template:WP, the Template:WP and the P-61 Black Widow.<ref>"The P-61 was a major inspiration; we wanted Star Citizen's version of a dedicated night fighter.", @banditloaf, Twitter, Nov 7, 2017</ref>
