With a distinct aroma, Leather Armour became very popular with warriors and hunters, as well as a few villagers, but that’s another story. Leather, when properly layered and cured, can turn away both the claws of a beast and the blades of an assailant.
It takes time and skill to craft Leather Armour. The material needs to be cured, cut, shaped and then stitched together with a material more durable than simple thread. It can be stiff to move in and surprisingly heavy, something young villagers would discover on their earliest hunts.
Young hunters would be gifted Leather Armour by their family as a sign of adulthood. Good-quality Leather Armour showed great pride in one's progeny. Many villagers would compete with one another to gift increasingly elaborate armour — as if doing so confirmed to all others that their child was special.
