Anyone who worked with Alric knew about the Subjugation Staff. It would thud, thud, thud on the cobblestone floor as he approached. It was a welcome warning that Alric was arriving, but it came with notes of dread.
The power of the Subjugation Staff came from what was rolled up and inserted into its middle. It was a demon pact, but one that had been defaulted on. While he held it, it was as if all of demonkind owed him something.
