Minecraft:Stagecraft

Template:Infobox video Stagecraft is the fifth episode of the second season of Minecraft Mini-Series.

Summary

River and Toby finds themselves confused inside a theater, unable to know how they got here. Theseus soon shows up behind them and tells them that he teleported them here, but he couldn't teleport the others so it wouldn't bee too obvious to his father. He then leaves the theater, telling them he gave them items to help them in their cause before the rest of the team falls out of a prismarine portal and onto River and Toby.

When the friends asked them how they ended up here, they answered that Theseus teleported them here. Suddenly, they hear a voice introducing themselves as an unparalelled actor. The voice belongs to the Chimera, claiming that the theater is his as two dryads accompany him. Quinn is surprised about how she met a Mythic Legend in a short amount of time. Then, CommuniKate affirms that theater is why she became a host. When she was little, she played the role of a chicken in a school play, but her poor performance made her quit and caused her fear of chickens.

As Durango spots an enchanted ender eye chest, the Chimera informs his participants that they may only claim the eye after beating his challenge of theater arts. The challenge consists of three events: improvising for one point, mine and movement for one point, and acting for three points. For the firsr event, he pretends threatening them to lower their guard so he could feast. He then tells his contestants that what he did is improvising and they failed to show depth in their character, earning a point for himself. Ashamed, Durango pretends he was actually improvising.

For the second event, he uses the diamond pickaxe on his snake tail to mime some blocks around a theater to build a statue of his head out of stone and Minecraft:sandstone. Eager to compete, Quinn and River take their pickaxes from the dryads and start building two similar statues, this time depicting dryads. Although impressed by their skills, the Chimera judges that they failed to bow, earning another point for himself.

For the third challenge, Durango cheers at CommuniKate to perform well. The Chimera approaches her and proposes which genre of theater arts she would like to perform among tragedy, comedy, or melodrama. CommuniKate chooses "chicken", a technique which neither the Chimera nor his snake seem to have mastered. Then, he and all the participants watch in confusion as CommuniKate pecks around like a chicken, impressing the snake. After the show ended, the Chimera called her performance "not acting, but transcend[ent] acting". Toby then asks Kate about whether she is no longer scared of chickens, suddenly startling her and causing her to jump on his shoulders. The Chimera then rewards his participants three points and gives them the enchanted ender eye.

Meanwhile, near Poseidon's command block statue, Poseidon asks his son about where River and Toby went, and Theseus answers that it does not matter. He informs him that the fourth enchanted ender eye has been found, pretending to be unhappy. Angered by this, Poseidon activates his statue and informs his contestants that the next challenge will be puzzling. He uses the prismarine portal to teleport them to the Minecraft:Maze of the Minotaur where Durango feels the presence of the final ender eye at the end of the labyrinth.
