2026-01-22	During the StarCitizen:ISC 'Alpha 4.6 Patch Report', StarCitizen:Jared Huckaby mentioned Alpha 4.6 would debut the RSI Hermes, with info expected the following week.<ref name="ISC460">Alpha 4.6 Patch Report</ref>
2026-01-28	The RSI Hermes was released straight to flyable in Alpha 4.6.

Trivia

Within Greek mythology, Hermes was the Olympian god of herds and flocks, travellers and hospitality, roads and trade, thievery and cunning, heralds and diplomacy, language and writing, athletic contests and gymnasiums, astronomy and astrology. He was the herald and personal messenger of Zeus, King of the Gods, and also the guide of the dead who led souls down into the underworld.<ref>Hermes, theoi.com</ref>
His Roman counterpart would be StarCitizen:Mercury, god of boundaries, commerce, communication (including divination), eloquence, financial gain, languages, luck, thieves, travelers, and trickery; he is also the guide of souls to the underworld. It is also the name of a StarCitizen:Crusader Industries blockade runner. Unlike the Mercury, the Hermes doesn't carry data, but can carry more than twice the cargo capacity than the Mercury.
With careful loading and unloading through the cargo entrance, the cargo grid area can accommodate 12 StarCitizen:Mirai StarCitizen:Furys.Template:Fact
