Myconic Overview

Myconic is a skill linked to the of gathering of mushrooms. Sometimes when picking a mushroom, adventurers will receive experience in Myconic instead of Mycology. Those who receive this experience often report seeing vague ideas or hearing strange voices in their head. As skill in Myconic improves, the messages become clearer.

Once Myconic is learned, gathering mushrooms of any variety has a chance to grant experience. Travelers often raise their Myconic in Serbule and Eltibule, areas with large quantities of mushrooms compared to the later arid regions of Ilmari and Rahu.

As mushrooms are harvested that grant Myconic experience, strange messages may be experienced.

5-9	You are overcome with thoughts of damp, and rot, and love and hate.
10-14	You suddenly imagine a sentient mushroom. It needs something from you.
15-19	For a moment, you thought you heard a mushroom say "Crystal of Terror"
20-24	Suddenly you have a vision of a giant crystal, as large as a mountain.
25-29	You envision an ancient creature creating a giant crystal. The creature loves power.
30-34	You see a crystal mountain come to life. Its pulses speak to myconians everywhere.
35-39	You see millions of souls ripped from fungal bodies. Their minds wither and then disperse.
40-44	You hear a voice say "Crystal of Restoration".
45-?	You suddenly imagine a device that could restore a myconian. It contains a red crystal.

Unlocking Myconian Mysteries

At Level 8 Myconic, adventurers report being able to converse with the Tall Mushrooms around the Serbule region. Speaking with one of these unusual shrooms will transport the speaker to the Myconian Cave, a tunnel network under the region. In the cave system, sentient Myconians can be spoken to, such as Poe and Way.
