You flip through the pages. An early entry says "SHE SAID YES!! HAPPY DAY!" Quite a while later, there is an entry with a rough ink sketch of a human woman and the note "Caroline died. Elven magic failed!! Managed to get her into a stasis stone. I WILL NOT LOOSE HER." Near the end of the journal is an entry with an ink sketch of the door to Borghild. A note below it reads, "Finally unearthed Borghild! Secrets of reanimation will soon be mine!" There doesn't seem to be any other person entries.

Journal of James II, Duke of Serbule

You flip through the journal. The author was not given to lengthy essays, so it's mostly just weird diagrams and cryptic notes. One section seems to be notes pertaining to this dungeon. Another large section in the back also seems to be related to special Blacksmithing techniques. There are also a few short entries that seem to be of a more personal nature.

On a dog-eared page you find the word 'Borghild' overtop a crazy diagram. You can't figure out what the diagram is supposed to mean. A note in the margin says 'Elf Blood!!!' and another note says 'Dwarf Blood!!!?!'

These are blueprints for unusual statuary. Some of them look much more complex than others. You jot down the recipes for later perusal.
