Scorch is a debuff unique to the Dragonwilds:Umbral Sands region in where the Player will rapidly lose thirst and hunger and gradually get worse. It is similar to the Dragonwilds:Wither effect, but originates from the red dragon general Fuzan.

To gain the Scorched debuff, players must be standing in direct sunlight within the Umbral Sands region and cannot be removed unless the player is either under shade, under roofs, or entering the region at night.

Scorch Resistance

Some items give the player Scorch resistance which reduces but does not eliminate the Scorch build up while in direct sunlight. The more Scorch resistant items a player has equipped the more resistant to Scorch they become, regardless of the type of item. The time a player can remain in direct sunlight before being afflicted by Scorch is as follows:

Items Equipped Time in sunlight
0 80 seconds
1 105 seconds
2 160 seconds
3 330 seconds

Additionally, the Scorch build up is reduced near sunset and sunrise.
