The following text is transcribed from the Journal.

Reinforced leather, designed to withstand powerful attacks. Layers of stiffened leather folded together to strengthen one another, turning singular sheets into a powerful defensive force.

When Dragonwilds:Amalgamated rose through the ranks of the guard — a tricky feat given the prejudice against them — it did not instill the populace with a sense of comfort. The villagers would see the marks of the elemental corruption on the guards and would turn and walk the other way. They would refuse to report a crime if they saw leaves instead of hair. Amalgamated guards would rarely be granted equipment of greater quality than reinforced leather — no matter what the mission they were assigned. It was seen as a waste, considering the uncooperative nature of many villagers, making it hard for an Amalgamated guard to do their duty.

It is, perhaps, no wonder that few Amalgamated guards chose to remain in the service for long.
