Wardstones are consumable items that temporarily buff defense, with the caveat of causing Dragonwilds:Soulscourge with overuse (supposedly this represents damage to the soul, as stated in the wardstone and dirty water descriptions). There are several wardstones that can be obtained, in increasing potency:
