The Void Rats are a UEEN fighter squadron. Originally they were concieved as an anti-slaving squadron in the StarCitizen:Nexus system, under the command of StarCitizen:Lt. Cdr. They suffered a significant defeat in the StarCitizen:Nexus system at the hands of mysterious assailants. After this, StarCitizen:Admiral StarCitizen:Hackbarth reassigned them to sweep the StarCitizen:Cathcart system and head to the StarCitizen:Centauri system Despite this being a low-action posting, the squadron once again found itself in conflict with the same mysterious assailants.<ref name=":0" />

The squadron commandeered a Mark I StarCitizen:Constellation the StarCitizen:Plumetail from its owner, Captain StarCitizen:Sharona Sirene,<ref>File:RSIsite.svgDoug Niles,Template:Nbsp David Ladyman,Template:Nbsp"The Void Rats, Part III". The local captain was able to identify the assailants as crime lord StarCitizen:Zander Dane and his crew, seeking personal revenge against StarCitizen:Lt. Cdr.
