Not to be confused with Minecraft:Rooted Dirt. For other uses, see Dirt (disambiguation).

Template:Infobox block Coarse dirt is a variant of Minecraft:dirt of which grass blocks cannot spread to.

Obtaining

Breaking

Coarse dirt drops itself as an Minecraft:item when mined using any Minecraft:tool or by hand, but Minecraft:shovels are the quickest.

Script error: No such module "breaking row".

Natural generation

File:SavannaDirt.jpg
Coarse dirt found in a savanna biome.

Coarse dirt can be found as large patches in the windswept savanna, wooded badlands, and old growth taiga biomes.

It also generates in mushroom farm rooms in woodland mansions and in trail ruins.

Usage

Coarse dirt has the ability to grow Minecraft:saplings, sugar canes, Minecraft:mushrooms, Minecraft:bamboo, Minecraft:flowers, and sweet berries, which can be planted directly under appropriate conditions.

Neither Minecraft:mycelium nor grass can spread onto coarse dirt.

Coarse dirt can be tilled using a Minecraft:hoe to become normal dirt. There must be an empty space above the coarse dirt for it to be tilled.

{{#vardefine: control | right click on mouse or left trigger on gamepad }}Using any type of Minecraft:shovel on coarse dirt turns it into a dirt path.

Mud

{{#vardefine: control | right click on mouse or left trigger on gamepad }}Using a water bottle, splash water bottle or lingering water bottle converts the coarse dirt into Minecraft:mud.

Sulfur cube

Template:Message box Template:Article other Sulfur cubes have the ability to absorb coarse dirt, either through picking it up or being interacted with it. This provides the regular/football effect to the mob when hitting it.
