Minecraft:The Sham (episode)

Summary

In the jungle, CommuniKate uses a vine to swing to the camera and greets the audience. Zed tries doing the same, but crashes in a tree. CommuniKate tells the audience about how unpleasant the contestants' experience with farm monsters was, which is why they build a shelter high up among the trees. On a wooden floor near a treetop, Toby and Rudi dance to their favorite song while Quinn and Sacha climb up a tree using vines. CommuniKate then comments that the participants' isolated way of building shelters for themselves has become a trend. To prove it, she peeks through Mo's underground base, who is busy reading a book.

The scene cuts to a treetop where Quin reaches the top laid out with planks and surrounds the treetop with a fence. Toby and Mo catch up to her, with the former enjoying the overlook over the islands. Quinn then points to Arena Island where she thinks all her lost friends were imprisoned, and Toby laments that CommuniKate is always watching the participants.

The scene then cuts to Mo's base where Mo sneaks behind a dirt block, before cutting back to the farm where Toby and Rudi are mining cobblestone from the walls. After collecting enough blocks, Rudi offers a deal with Toby that if he managed to craft the Minecraft:furnace for baking Minecraft:potatoes, he will pick the next music disc. After Toby consented, Rudi begins to sing maniacally before coming back to mine, and Durango intervenes, telling the two that he wants to "steak with the potaters". He then turns back and, out of hallucinations, mistakes the cow behind him for an infernal cow. Out of fear, he tells the cow that he didn't want a Minecraft:steak but a Minecraft:stick, grabbing one and trying to eat it. Quinn then comes and ironically invites Durango for a game of fetch.

The teams are then brought into a new challenge where they are required to use Minecraft:beds to collect Minecraft:feathers by punching slime blocks, all on a raised ground of wood pillars. CommuniKate then promises the team collecting all five feathers points and Minecraft:diamonds, which Durango calls "bonafide treasure". The scene then cuts to an interview with him in front of the well in which he cites that "even a tough-as-nails cowboy can enjoy sparkly things", with The Well Wisher peeking out.

When the challenge started, all the teams use the slime blocks on the ground to access the beds, with Slugger taking the wrong path and landing on Zed. Sacha then manages to break a slime block and retrive the feathers, and Rudi catches up. Noticing the bed below him is bouncy, he begins jumping on it repeatedly. CommuniKate then comments about Rudi's behavior, saying that "this is Eerie Island, where dreams can turn into nightmares". The bed soon turns into The Sham and attempts to bite Rudi, who falls to the ground. Quinn complains to her friends about CommuniKate's challenge using haunted beds, and Mo arrives with Minecraft:dirt support as part of a cheating plan. The scene cuts to Team Mesa where Durango attempts to reach the slime block only to get startled by the bed turning into another Sham. Within Team Tundra, Rudi and Sacha agree to team up by letting the former break slime blocks and the latter collect the feathers, which they did with success, much to Durango's dismay. Meanwhile, Mo and Team Stone Beach cheat in the challenge by bridging with Mo's dirt and reaching the feathers easily. Dismayed by their cheating, CommuniKate denies calling that a game, giving diamonds and five points to Team Tundra instead and letting them on the lead. In the background, Slugger is seen jumping on either beds or slime blocks.

Near the end of the day, everyone decides to leave the jungle, with Rudi juggling his diamonds. Much to the participants' shock, CommuniKate announces that their shelter will be blown up. Mo then whispers to Slugger's ear and dangerously runs along the activating redstone dust and into the base before it explodes. Thinking Mo died, every participant is saddened by her disappearance, but Slugger conforts Quinn by telling her that Mo is actually plotting a plan. CommuniKate then tells Slugger that, because of her teammate's possible death, Team Mooshroom got eliminated and teleports her away, much to Quinn's fury. CommuniKate and the participants then set sails from Eerie Island to visit Scatter Island where the next two challenges will take place.
