Template:Hatnote Template:Infobox block Coarse dirt is a variant of Minecraft:dirt of which Minecraft:grass blocks cannot spread to.
Obtaining
Breaking
Coarse dirt drops itself as an Minecraft:item when mined using any Minecraft:tool or by hand, but Minecraft:shovels are the quickest.
Natural generation
Coarse dirt can be found as large patches in the Minecraft:windswept savanna, Minecraft:wooded badlands, and Minecraft:old growth taiga biomes.
It also generates in mushroom farm rooms in Minecraft:woodland mansions and in Minecraft:trail ruins.
Mob loot
An Minecraft:enderman holding coarse dirt drops the block upon death.
Crafting
Usage
Coarse dirt has the ability to grow Minecraft:saplings, Minecraft:sugar canes, Minecraft:mushrooms, Minecraft:bamboo, Minecraft:flowers, and Minecraft:sweet berries, which can be planted directly under appropriate conditions.
Neither Minecraft:mycelium nor grass can spread onto coarse dirt.
Dirt renewability
Coarse dirt can be tilled using a Minecraft:hoe to become normal dirt. There must be an empty space above the coarse dirt for it to be tilled.
Template:Control any type of Minecraft:shovel on coarse dirt turns it into a Minecraft:dirt path.
Tilling coarse dirt or turning it into a dirt path is a renewable way to get Minecraft:dirt.
Mud
Template:Control a Minecraft:water bottle, Minecraft:splash water bottle or Minecraft:lingering water bottle converts the coarse dirt into Minecraft:mud.
Sulfur cube
Template:In development Minecraft:Sulfur cubes have the ability to absorb coarse dirt, either through picking it up or being interacted with it. This provides the regular/football effect to the mob when hitting it.
