Skills are attributes that Dragonwilds:players can train by performing various actions. There are 11 skills in RuneScape: Dragonwilds, all of which are based on skills from RuneScape.
Skills can be trained up to level 99 by gaining experience, with each level unlocking a bonus or a new spell related to that skill. Prior to the Early Access version 0.11, the (soft) skill experience cap is level 50 (40,592 XP), excluding Farming at level 65. Any experience gains of n XP beyond this threshold increase the maximum XP cap of that skill by 100,000,000 + n XP, making it virtually impossible to reach the maximum level.
During the Dragonwilds summit on Dragonwilds:29 January Dragonwilds:2026, it is revealed that the soft cap of skills will be raised to a soft cap of 99 with the release of the Madness of Zamorak story expansion. This will allow players to grind out those levels without sacrificing experience gain past level 50 (or 65 for Farming) and enable Jagex to backfill in extra content while growing the world of the game.
