The Refinery decks were added in Alpha 3.12.0 and are dedicated areas in Rest Stops that allow players to drop off mined materials to be refined, or buy new mining equipment.<ref>Template:Cite RSI</ref>
Refining
The Refinery Deck allows StarCitizen:Citizens to StarCitizen:refine mined ores and salvaged construction materials. The refining process is done through work orders, which can be dispatched at refining terminals located in the processing center.
When interacting with the terminal, a suitable vehicle with mined ore can be selected, which then allows the player to select which stored ores they want to refine, and what refining method to use. Before requesting a quote of the generated yield, cost and time, the work order and refining method must be confirmed. Different refining methods have different durations, costs and yield associated with them.
| Method | Speed | Cost | Yield |
|---|---|---|---|
| Cormack Method | High | Moderate | Low |
| Dinyx Solventation | Very low | Low | High |
| Electrostarolysis | Moderate | Moderate | Moderate |
| Ferron Exchange | Low | Moderate | High |
| Gaskin Process | High | High | Moderate |
| Kazen Winnowing | Moderate | Low | Low |
| Pyrometric Chromalysis | Low | High | High |
| Thermonatic Deposition | Low | Low | Moderate |
| XCR Reaction | High | High | Low |
Once a work order has been completed, the refined materials will need to be loaded into one or multiple ships. After which they can be sold at a StarCitizen:Trading Console
Refinery specializations
Different Refinery decks will be specialized at refining certain minerals. Or be worse at refining a specific mineral.
Vehicle renting
All current Refinery decks are also equipped with equipment rental terminals allowing StarCitizen:Citizens to rent a select few vehicles.
These terminals can be found in the store section of the Refinery deck.
Store
The Refinery deck also has a store located on the premises. The store generally sells some basic amenities like StarCitizen:OxyPens, flight suits, (mining) armor and the StarCitizen:Pyro RYT Multi-Tool with attachments.
The store also sells StarCitizen:Mining laser modules for ships, and StarCitizen:Mining gadgets.
