Template:For Template:Infobox effect
Wither is a Minecraft:status effect that inflicts Minecraft:damage over time. It acts similarly to Minecraft:Poison, save for the fact that it acts slower, can do so against the undead, and can kill on any difficulty level. It also turns the player's health bar black, making their health harder to track.
Effect
The amount of Minecraft:damage inflicted to the affected entity is shown in the table below:
| Level | Ticks per Template:Hp | Template:Hp per second |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | 40 | Template:Hp |
| 2 | 20 | Template:Hp |
| 3 | 10 | Template:Hp |
| 4Template:Note | 5 | Template:Hp |
| 5Template:Note | 2 | Template:Hp |
| 6+Template:Note | 1 | Template:Hp |
Template:Notelist The Minecraft:player's hearts turn black (Template:Hp on Minecraft:Survival mode or Template:Hp on Minecraft:Hardcore mode), making it sometimes more difficult, but still possible, for the player to see their Minecraft:health. Death is reported as "<player> withered away". Amplifiers outside the range 0–31 (corresponding to levels 1–32) use Template:W 32.
