Template:For Template:Outdated feature Template:Conjecture Template:Infobox block An infinite lava source, also referred to as a "volcano block" by Minecraft:Notch,<ref name="notchblog1"/> was a block that would repeatedly create Minecraft:lava on each of its four orthogonal sides.
Obtaining
Breaking
Infinite lava sources can be broken instantly, regardless of held items.
Generated loot
Infinite lava sources could be found in Minecraft:starting house Minecraft:chests in stacks of 99 in Minecraft:Indev 0.31 20100124-2310, and stacks of 100 in Minecraft:Indev 0.31 20100128-2200. Prior to this, they were added to the player's Minecraft:inventory by default in a stack of 5.
Usage
The infinite lava source has many visual and functional differences from normal lava:
- It is a full, solid cube block with full block collision.
- It does not damage entities.
- It does not emit light.
- All sides use the same still lava texture.
Creating liquids
Immediately after placement, the infinite lava source creates blocks of lava on each of its four orthogonal sides. If these created blocks are removed, they get regenerated after enough time.
Sponges
Unlike with normal lava, infinite lava sources are deleted by Minecraft:sponges.
