Minecraft:Bedrock Edition beta 26.50.21

Beta 26.50.21 is the first exclusive Nintendo Switch 2 beta version, released on August 7, 2026, which adds Minecraft:Vibrant Visuals support.

Eligible users received a notification in the title screen, allowing them to download the beta for the native version from the Nintendo eShop. This beta is downloaded as a separate app titled "Minecraft Closed Beta".

This beta is equivalent to Minecraft:Preview 26.50.20.

Changes

The differences between the Nintendo Switch build, backward-compatible with Nintendo Switch 2, and this native beta are as follows.

Graphical

• Minecraft:Vibrant Visuals is now available.
  • The maximum render distance is 16 chunks.
  • Point lights and volumetric block lights are not available.
• The render distance without Vibrant Visuals is 28 chunks instead of 12.
