- Purple dye is currently the only dye that cannot be obtained in any means other than combining other dyes, since it has no associated plant that can produce it.
- This is a reference to the dye's real life historic rarity, originally because Template:W dye, which is made from the secretions of sea snails, was extremely expensive in antiquity.Template:Cn
