Animal bones are surprisingly durable, especially those found on Dragonwilds:Ashenfall. The magic of the continent seeps into their marrow, slowly strengthening them and making them tougher. This goes some way to explaining the ferocity of ordinarily docile creatures, but it also helps when crafting tools.
Cows and similar beasts were celebrated in the age of Dragonwilds:Guthix. The people of Dragonwilds:Brynmoor preferred to take an animal’s life only on the hunt or after long years of service. When an animal passed, it was thanked for its sacrifice, and the materials helped strengthen the village.
A club forged of bone was a simple tool, but one that made defending the village much easier. Roving beasts were easily pushed back and the village was protected by the animal’s last gifts.
