There was a bountiful supply of leather in Dragonwilds:Brynmoor, much to the chagrin of Dragonwilds:cows. Young villagers would craft sturdy leather armour when they trained with the guard. Few villagers would ever make the cut of town guard; the demands were strict, and the discipline required was more than many could handle. Yet, those who made the cut were afforded the utmost respect among the people.
At least those who were not afflicted by the curse of the Amalgamated.
