The following text is transcribed from the Journal.
It was late in the development of Fellhollow that the people needed armour. They made do with old hand me down leather and bronze gear, brought with them from Bramblemead, for the most part, because what need was there for armour when you were protected by dragons.

Not all members of the Children of Shadows were as paranoid as Sadia, many enjoyed a blending of faiths and would regularly attend the inter-faith meetings held by the elder priests of the different religions. Still, many felt a growing unease building, even in their idyllic village, and so they began to push for the construction of steel armour.

They took the recipes discovered by Vesk and Sadia, and they found cheaper and more efficient blacksmiths to work with. The elaborate designs favoured by Sadia and Vesk, were soon forgotten in favour of much simpler and efficient designs that could be worn by anyone, regardless of faith.

With the abundance of resources in Fellhollow, soon everyone seemed to have a set of steel armour and for many it became an excuse to forge family crests and trim with filigree that set them apart from one another.

They had no idea how necessary these suits of family armour would prove to be.
